Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up (via email or Google), we store your email address and a securely hashed password. Your name is optional.

Text Content: The text you rewrite is sent to our server for AI processing. We do NOT store the content of your rewrites permanently. Usage counts (number of rewrites) are stored for rate limiting purposes.

Usage Statistics: We store anonymous usage data (total rewrites, streak days, words rewritten) locally in your browser to display stats in the extension popup.

How We Use Your Information

Your email is used only for authentication and account management. We do not send marketing emails. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.

AI Processing

Text you rewrite is sent to DeepSeek AI for processing. DeepSeek does not use your data for training. See DeepSeek's Privacy Policy for details.

Data Storage

Server: We host our own backend (PostgreSQL database). We store only: email, password hash, account plan status, and anonymous usage counts. We do NOT store the content you rewrite.

Browser: Your JWT token, user info, rewrite history, and stats are stored locally in Chrome's storage (chrome.storage.local). You can clear this anytime from chrome://extensions.

Third-Party Services

Google OAuth: Used for optional one-click sign-in. Google shares your email address with us when you choose this method. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Paystack: Used for payment processing (future feature). We do not store your payment details. See Paystack's Privacy Policy.

Neon: Our PostgreSQL database is hosted by Neon. See Neon's Privacy Policy.
